MANDALGARH                                                                                       Located 54 km from Bhilwara,

this place possesses historical importance as it was the scene of many battles during the medieval times. It is also famous in history as being the campsite of the great Mughal emperor Akbar during the Haldi Ghati battle. A half-mile long fort stands guard with low rampart wall and bastions encircling the crest of the hill on which it stands. The fort is said to have been constructed by a chief of the Balnote clan of Rajputs. The fort houses two temples, one dedicated to Lord Shiva called Jaleshwar and the other dedicated to Krishna called Bada Mandir.
